  • Photography Talk by John Credland - ‘Salon des Refusés’

    March 26, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Methodist Church Hall, Newbury Street, Wantage, OX12 8DA.

On 26th March Wantage Camera Club welcomes John Credland who will present his 'Salon des Refusés'. When John turned 70 he tried but failed to become an 'Associate of the Royal Photographic Society' first time round, or get a 'Distinction of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain' for his audio-visual work. He has been a professional photographer for many years and knows how to take a good photo, so this was not quite what he expected.

He will describe to us with a great deal of humour his experience of the judging process illustrated by his 'Gallery of Incompetent and Uninteresting Images', consisting of prints and AV sequences. We look forward to an interesting evening!

For more information about the club's programme see http://wantagecameraclub.co.uk/.

All visitors very welcome; doors open at 7 pm. Please note: the fee for this talk is £3.

  • Wantage Camera Club Evening

    April 23, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Methodist Church Hall, Newbury Street, Wantage, OX12 8DA

Tonight those members of the club who earlier this year picked up some unprocessed images taken by other people, will bring in the processed images they created from them and show how they think the original can be improved; the original images will also be shown. The audience is invited to discuss the changes, and can come up with alternative suggestions.

This will be a good way to learn how other people process their images, and to see how much can be done to improve the final result, especially if the images are taken in RAW format which - unlike JPEG files, retains all information that was collected by the camera's sensor.

For more information about the club's programme see http://wantagecameraclub.co.uk/.

All visitors very welcome; doors open at 7 pm. Please note: the fee for this talk is £3.
