Charity Celebrate 20th Anniversary with a Funding Appeal to Raise £20,000
A local charity based in Didcot need to raise £20,000 to provide trips to unpaid carers in Southern Oxfordshire throughout the year.
South and Vale Carers Centre set up in 1994 with an objective to reach out and help as many unpaid carers in their local communities as possible. Wanting unpaid carers who are struggling financially, practically and emotionally to have access to the support they need so their quality of life improves and so they never feel alone in a caring role.
Almost everyone will know at least one person who carers for a family member or friend, and with the number of people caring steadily increasing, South and Vale Carers Centre is experiencing more enquires than ever.
This centre is continuing to support unpaid carers, including young carers from the age of 8 and their cared for but in order for that to happen, we need the help of local people and businesses.
The Centre’s manager says “We are committed to support people who are caring in Southern Oxfordshire; caring can be a very frustrating, isolating and vulnerable time. Our work can be life changing for people giving them specialist support and improving their confidence to care. We are therefore urging local people and businesses to get behind our work in any way they can. With your support we can look forward to helping caters for another 20 years.”
