WANTAGE CE PRIMARY SCHOOL started the cross country season with a race in which every child in KS2 participated.
The children ran the cross country course around the Manor Road Recreation Park in Wantage which features grueling hill climbs. The event brought out the competitive spirit of the children and many of the races were tightly contested.
But everyone took part and the children enthusiastically encouraged and cheered on their class mates.
Fiona Rose, Co-Headteacher, said:
‘It was great to watch every child in KS2 take part no matter what their ability was. It was particularly heartening to witness the eagerness of some of the oldest children running alongside those who benefited from extra support and encouragement along the way. I admire their energy to run the course for a second time! There was a real sense of fun, enjoyment and achievement from all the children.’
