Here is our plan for 2014 event:
Supporting local businesses:
Wantage Dickensian Evening is a great opportunity to promote local businesses. The idea of our event started with promotion of local, independent shops and even though it has evolved we want to ensure that it remains an important element of the evening.
This year we have opened our planning sessions to representatives of local businesses, improved our online communication and set up additional planning meetings for marketing of their #DickensianEve promotions.
One of many amazing ideas born out of our planning meeting – one originated by our participants, so thank you ever so much for that! – is a kids trail. Last Saturday few of our participants and stall holders met for a coffee at the Vale & Downland Museum to finalise this and small marketing details. It has been agreed that the Kids Trail will continue our theme – 12 Days of Christmas. We already have six initial organisations actively engaged in the idea: The Funky Teapot, Team Mikayla, The Friends of Wantage Church of England Primary School, Wantage Minecraft Club, Arbery Emporium, RAF Association.
We would like to express our huge gratitude to all those organisations for their initiative. Now, we would also like to invite everyone else to join us! Please get in touch (email firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to us on Facebook group) by 27 November.

We also have our annual activities – This year’s shop window competition theme is:
We do our best to respond to your needs and so in the week of our event we will be hosting free digital marketing session to coordinate and finalise all our plans and to bring additional value to those who actively participate in our event. Please email email@example.com to book your place if you are interested in attending.
As we are approaching the date of our event more and more local companies share their unique #DickensianEve offers on our fan page so to find out more, please follow us there.
