The Wantage and Grove Foodbank is a practical, community based project, organised by local churches, which provides food parcels to those in our immediate area who find themselves temporarily in difficult circumstances.\n\nWe are dependent upon donations of food and are staffed by church volunteers.\n\nFood donations can be dropped off at: The independant Advice Centre, The Kings Book Shop (Wantage) & Cornerstone Coffee Shop (Grove) or your local church.\n\nAll food needs to be tins or packets (NO fresh items) with a reasonable shelf life (3-6months if possible). We are currently collecting the following food items: tinned meat, tinned fish, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, tinned or packet puddings, pasta sauce, rice, cereal, jam, coffee, tea & hot chocolate(made with water).\n\nReferrals to the food bank are made by a number of agencies including the Butler Centre, the health centre, the independant advice centre and the Parish Centre(Grove). If you know of someone who is in need please get in touch with your local church or with one of the agencies above. The foodbank is intended as short term emergency help to tide people over in crisis not as a long term support. We also link with groups who can provide baby clothes and furniture.
