GROVE BUSINESS PARK SELECT “IN HOUSE” OCCUPIER (IRUN LTD) TO BUILD NEW WEBSITE

General Manager delighted to be “eating own dog food”

Boston House, Grove Business Park, September 9, 2016–  An extensive and rigorous tender process has been concluded involving seven web development companies across three counties. The new management team at Grove Business Park are delighted to announce that Irun Ltd (of the same address) have been appointed to design and develop the new corporate website.

Peter Mols – General Manager at Grove Business Park said he was “exceptionally pleased to be working with Irun Ltd on this project”

Eating your own dog food, is a slang term used to reference a scenario in which a company uses its own product to test and promote the product. The origins of the expression stem from 1970s television advertisements for Alpo dog food, where the owner Lorne Greene pointed out that he fed Alpo to his own dogs.  Wikipedia

“It makes perfect sense for us to be working with and supporting our clients in any way we can”. “I’ve always believed that the art to building a successful and thriving business centre, is in creating a vibrant community, where businesses of all shapes and sizes come together to network, collaborate, share best practice and ultimately make each other more successful”.

Prior to putting the site out to tender, we searched all over the internet, looking at best practice in modern website design and functionality. Those websites that we admired were added to the briefing document which stretched to over 20 pages. “During that process we put together what we believe to be a very comprehensive brief”. “We’re very proud of what we are doing at Grove and once the site is complete, we hope it will have a strong community feel, and tell a great story”.

The briefing document went out to tender across four companies that were previously known to the Management Team and Park Owners. These were based in London, Southampton, Reading and Windsor. Three further developers were approached from the local area. All companies were selected to tender based on the strength of their own websites and those of their previous clients.

Irun were up against very strong competition, especially because we had previous personal relationships with so many of the other tender companies.  We always liked the idea of supporting local firms where we could, and were delighted when Irun put together a really compelling tender document. The document, along with subsequent meetings with Daniel Plowright (director) gave us a great deal of confidence in Irun’s ability to complete the project to the very high standard that we are looking to achieve.

We loved the flexibility that they assured us, and really value the fact that we can pop upstairs and see them at short notice to discuss the build.
