Peter Pan is in a Pickle – Can you help?
“She is scared of theatre but today she joined in”.
Head2Head Theatre is a small registered charity based in Ashtead. We are led by volunteers with a passion for inclusion. We work exclusively with, and for the benefit of disabled children and their families, and have been performing across London and the South East for the last 12 years. Our overriding aim is to relieve the needs of children/young people with a wide range of disabilities through stimulating and engaging activities. We are planning to bring our summer tour of ‘Peter Pan in a Pickle’ to local families in Wantage over the summer but need your support.
Our performances give children with disabilities an opportunity to enjoy an interactive and immersive theatre experience with their families. For many children with special needs attending a traditional theatre can be a daunting experience. Our performances are designed to help overcome some of the barriers that exist with advance packs to help prepare the children, a relaxed and safe atmosphere and a cast that understands and adapts to the needs of each and every child.
“The main thing was that they created a show and an environment where she felt safe to express herself and enjoy the day without anxiety. This is amazing!”
We plan to deliver 3 performances of our latest show at Fitzwaryn Special School on Thursday 26 July (2pm) and Friday 27 July (11.15am & 2pm). Tickets cost just £5 per person. We also invite families to join us for lunchtime activities (12.45pm-2pm) with sensory tent, fames and craft activities. This provides a great opportunity to network with other families in a relaxed and calm atmosphere.
We work hard to keep our costs low for families and feel it’s important to provide holiday activities for the whole family.
“It was really wonderful to have an activity that my disabled child and my four year old could enjoy together”
We have put in some grant applications and have our fingers crossed but still currently need £2,000 to help make this tour happen in your area.
If you or your company would like to support local families and provide some lasting memories for them we would really appreciate your support. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for a chat about ways you may be able to help.
“He cannot cope with being in a traditional theatre set-up, so thank you for bringing the theatre to him at level he can understand and appreciate.”
