Following a big archaeological dig, Didcot has discovered it has a pre-history dating back 9000 years. The bad news is it’s on what’s due to become a new housing estate (Great Western Park). Up until local people found out about the archaeology, developers planned to build over most of it, having first removed the finds.

We’re asking developers (via a petition) to leave some of the archaeology areas undeveloped and add information boards – there’s a link on the website: www.ddmile.org.uk which includes photos of the archaeology and paintings of the area.
