Once the Introduction and Foundation Certificates have been completed students can advance onto the Diploma. The advantage to Training at WCTC, for the Diploma, is that during training you obtain support from the Counselling Community and a Supervised Clinical Placement. Payment for Supervised Clinical Placements is included in the course fee; and on completion of the Diploma you can continue to work towards BACP accreditation at the Counselling Service.

Wantage Counselling Service was founded in 1984 to provide counselling for individuals, couples and young people in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire. WCS is particularly valuable as a voluntary addition for patients in need of long-term care beyond whatever the NHS can provide.

We see up to 50 people a week for short- or long-term counselling. As a BACP-accredited service we follow the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy’s (BACP) Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

WCS is a registered charity and aims to provide counselling irrespective of clients’ ability to pay the full fee. We rely on events and donations such as this both to help raise awareness of our service and to fund it.
