People living in and around Wantage and Grove have a chance to recognise exceptional customer service from their local, independent shop and service businesses, and their favourite restaurant and pub in a competition for Small Business Saturday.
The now annual local business awards run by Wantage Town Team and supported by Wantage & District Chamber of Commerce, give people chance to vote via www.wantageandgroveloyalty.co.uk/ in five categories:
· Exceptional Customer Service: Shop Category
· Exceptional Customer Service: Non Retail Category (This could be a business type such as financial, legal, house related or business support providers, healthcare or beauty services, a tradesperson, or any other local business that does not operate from a shop premises)
· Best Kept Shop Front
· Best Restaurant
· Best Pub
There will be a winner and a highly commended in each category, with the awards presented on Small Business Saturday – Saturday 3rd December.
Wantage & District Chamber of Commerce Chairman, Richard Shepherd, says: “In recent years both Wantage and Grove have gone from strength to strength, in terms of continued growth and achieving great customer loyalty. These awards are chosen by our local community and a chance to recognise hard work and determination for Wantage and Grove independents and local businesses.”
The five business award winners receive a certificate and a £50 voucher to be claimed against advertising and/or marketing costs.
Anyone can vote and Wantage & Grove Loyalty card holders who complete the questionnaire will be entered into a prize draw, and the winner will receive a £50 voucher to be spent with one or two local Loyalty Scheme businesses of their choice.

Wantage town team led by Market Town Co-ordinator, Mim Norvell, is part of a town vitality initiative funded by the Vale of White Horse District Council, and supported by Wantage Town Council, Grove Parish Council and Wantage & District Chamber of Commerce through the Wantage Joint Economic Forum (JEF).
