Our members include published and about to be published authors, new writers and everything in between. You can attend meetings on an ad-hoc basis for £3 per session, or sign up for the whole year with an annual membership cost of £20, giving you access to 24 meetings across the year plus subsidised ticket prices for the specialist workshops which we run several times a year.

Wantage Poetry Club

Formed in 2007 by a group of local poets and poetry lovers, the initial meeting was held in the upstairs lounge of The Bear Hotel, Wantage and we  now meet on alternate Tuesday nights . Meetings are very informal and comprise readings and then discussion of members’ poems and those of published poets. Membership is free and open to anyone who enjoys reading and/or writing poetry.

Come and join us on a Tuesday night.

Freehand writers

The Freehand Writers was founded in 2007 in order to offer a forum in which Oxfordshire-based writers could develop their writing, whether fiction, verse or drama. The group was begun by graduates of Oxford University’s Diploma in Creative Writing but it is open for anyone to attend.

The group meets monthly in central Oxford and operates as a writers’ group. Members of the group take it in turn to chair each month so no one person owns the administation of the group, and everyone is encouraged to take part and attend, even when their own pieces are not being read or critiqued.

Group 2012

Group 2012 is a writing group in Oxford, started in January 2012 as a collaboration between Blackwell’s Bookshop, Cherry Mosteshar of The Oxford Editors and Ilaria Meliconi of Hersilia Press. We meet monthly, on the third Wednesday of the month, in the bookshop or in other venues in Oxford, announced each time.
